Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Anti-wrinkle injections are used to relax the muscles and are commonly injected into the forehead, between the forehead and around the eyes. The cosmetic procedure allows wrinkles to disappear and is designed to prevent wrinkles from forming. Our anti-wrinkle injections take full effect within 7-14 days post procedure, and results can give you a youthful glow for, on average, 3 to 4 months.
Following your anti-wrinkle injection, there are a number of things you can do to ensure the procedure has been as effective as possible. These include:
- Exaggerating facial movements for 1 hour after your treatment to work the injected product into your muscles.
- Avoid products containing AHAs, BHAs or Retinoids for 48 hours post-procedure.
- Use mineral makeup (if using any at all) and apply with a well cleaned sponge or brush.
- Avoid facial treatments, peels, or facial massages for 48 hours post-procedure.
- Stay upright and avoid strenuous exercise for 3-4 hours post-procedure.
- Avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication for 48 hours, as they may induce bruising
In addition to these, it is also very normal to have some redness, swelling and tenderness post-treatment. Some patients may experience small mosquito bite like bumps at the injection site. They generally only last about an hour, but you may ice the area to assist with this swelling.
